Cellfield Carlisle

Carly Johnston obtained a law degree from Durham University in 2006 and later chose to re-train as a teacher. She completed her PGCE in 2013 and is an experienced Primary and Secondary School teacher who has worked with students aged from four to adult. She is passionate about ensuring that all students can reach their full potential. 

Carly runs the very successful Kip McGrath Tuition Centre in Carlisle teaching English and maths up to GCSE level. She was awarded Franchisee of the Year for the 2022-2023 academic year. Her centre teaches over 200 lessons per week! Seeing members of her immediate family struggle with dyslexia and reading difficulties prompted a keen interest in methods of supporting students with literacy difficulties. In 2023 she spent time observing students, speaking to their parents and reviewing the results obtained by students in the Cellfield Centre in Stirling. Following this, she and her team underwent specialist training and opened the Cellfield Carlisle Centre in January 2024. They are excited to witness firsthand the results from their own Cellfield clients.
